High pressure is common in Scotts Valley and pressure regulators must be checked and replaced approximately every five to seven years. High water pressure disposes pipes, irrigation emitters and some appliances to costly breaks or malfunctions.
It is ideal to install regulators directly after the water meter if there is room in the meter box or adjacent landscape. Regulators must be lead-free in the State of California and they must be adjustable between at least a range of 60-80 psi. The top pressure the regulator must be able to handle is 200 psi.
