The District is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. The Board holds regular meetings on the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the District Board Room, 2 Civic Center Drive, Scotts Valley. On occasion a special Board Meeting or Workshop will be held to address specific topics that need addtional review or discussion. All Board Meetings are open to the public.
The District (SVWD) is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on its Board of Directors. Applicants who are passionate about public service and willing to explore the complexities of the water industry. The Board of Directors will conduct interviews on July 17, 2017 and the appointment will be made no later than July 28, 2017. The partial term will begin in August and continue through November 2018, when the appointee is eligible to run for election to a 4-year term. Click here for more info
Standing Committee Meetings
The Board currently has three standing committees that are tasked to review, study and discuss proposals, reports and issues in the specific area of expertise; advise and recommend actions to the Board of Directors on these topics; and to provide feedback to the General Manager and staff. The schedule for the standing commitees are Finance & Personnel 1st Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.; Executive & Public Affairs 3rd Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. and Water Resources and Engineering 4th Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. The standing committee meetings are held in the District Conference Room and are open to the public. On May 24, 2016 an ad‐hoc committee was established for assisting the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA) Best Management Practices (BMP) Working Group by providing input in support of locally developed practices that result in sustainable groundwater management. Director Perri and Director Kannegaard have been appointed to serve on this limited term advisory committee.
