APPLY NOW TO SERVE!

The Scotts Valley Water District (SVWD) today announced that the District’s Board of Directors made its community advisory positions within the board and its committees permanent roles and is actively recruiting for community members to serve on board committees.

The SVWD Board of Directors launched two pilot programs in fall 2019 to increase community engagement —Junior Associate board members and public members of committees positions. At its November meeting, the board made the programs permanent.

Applications are being accepted for four positions: two each on the Finance and Personnel Committee and the Engineering and Water Resources Committee. The committee positions are ideal for those interested in local government and civic service, or those who want to learn more about the local water supply and how a water agency operates. Stipends are available.

Requirements for Public Members of Committees:
- Two-year commitment, January 2022-December 2023
- Attend monthly afternoon or evening meetings
- Reside or work in the SVWD service area
- Age 18 or over

The application window closes Dec. 27. Past participants may reapply. Learn more and apply online: http://www.svwd.org.

Applications to join the board as a Junior Associate member, who serve as non-voting advisors, will open in late 2022. Junior Associate Board Members can be ages 16-30 and also will serve 2-year terms.
