 | David McNair, General Manager David McNair was appointed as General Manager in November 2022. He previously served as the Operations Manager. David has nearly four decades of water experience. He began his career with the San Lorenzo Valley Water District in 1981 as a Maintenance Operator. He worked through both the infamous flood of January 1982 and the Loma Prieta Earthquake of 1989. He relocated to southwest Florida in 1991 where he went to work for the Collier County Water Department before moving over to the City of Naples Utilities Department where he managed the water distribution, wastewater collection and recycled water systems. California called David back home in 1996 after he was offered the Distribution Superintendent position with the Santa Cruz Water Department where he worked for the next 18 years before joining the SVWD in 2014. |
| Rahni Jensen, Executive Assistant / Board Clerk (831) 600-1901 | email Rahni joined the District in February 2022 with the Customer Service and Finance Department as a Utility Service Technician. Prior to coming to the SVWD, Rahni worked in the private sector as an Office Assistant, and a Maintenance Coordinator for a property management company. Along with providing administrative support to the General Manager, Rahni supports the Board of Directors and manages the District’s Human Resources. She enjoys the varied workload, and the opportunity to grow within the District. Rahni has a Bachelors Degree in Communications with a Concentration in Journalism and Media Studies from CSUMB. She is a lifelong resident of Scotts Valley, having been born and raised here, and is excited to serve the community she grew up within. |
| Nate Gillespie, Operations Manager Nate Gillespie joined the District as the Operations Manager in October of 2022. Nate has over 15 years of experience in the water industry in a variety of roles, including regulatory compliance, water quality management and water supply operations in both normal and emergency conditions. Prior to joining the SVWD, Nate has held positions with the City of Santa Cruz Water Department, the San Lorenzo Valley Water District and the Soquel Creek Water District. Nate has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry from Sonoma State University and holds both T-4 and D-4 operator certifications. He is excited to join the highly skilled team of Scotts Valley Water District and be a part of providing an essential service to the community that he and his family call home. |
| Nicholas Kurns, Finance and Customer Service Manager Nick Kurns joined the District in April 2018. In his role as Finance and Customer Service Manager, Nick is responsible for the finance, accounting, utility billing and customer service functions of the District. Prior to joining SVWD, Nick worked as a Budget Analyst for the City of Sunnyvale. He brings nearly 10 years of work experience in local government. Nick has also worked in various financial management roles in the private sector. Nick received his bachelor’s degree in Economics from Claremont McKenna and MBA from Santa Clara University. |
